Dengue 🦟🦟

 Dengue is contagious disease caused by a virus.Its carrier is a mosquito.Here some people are shows symptoms and some people are not.

 The main mosquitoes that contribute to the spread of dengue virus are the "AEDES AEGYPTI, AEDES ALBOPICTUS and AES POLYNESIAN" mosquito species.These mosquitoes can be identified by the markings on their bodies.



Dengue is one of the leading infectious diseases in Sri Lanka.The disease shows an increase withe the current rainy season.Also, the highest number of patients is from the western province, which is 68% of the total number.


Common symptoms of dengue virus include nausea and vomiting.If there ara any conditions like paleness of the hands and feet, irritability, discoloration of the skin, dizziness.Seek treatments an soon as possible.

Mosquito breeding is caused by human activities as well as naturally.This is done by adding water to places such as discarded gutters, coconut shells and shrubs.

We need to take action to prevent this dengue based on the current situation.Mainly we can the houses clean to prevent the spread of these mosquitoes.And this can also be prevented by conducting shramadhana programs, distributing leaflets and conducting awareness programs.



Dengue virus is a currently problematic global infection.Therefore, every effort should be made to prevent this diseas.The possibility of treatments of dengue via antiviral drugs is still under investigation.However, the disease can be prevented to some extent by following the above steps.So always be vigilant and safe about this.
